Do I really need a professional organizer?

You may need a professional organizer when

I seek to understand your organizing challenges and goals and provide you with a Customized DIEM Organizing Plan to tackle those challenges and achieve your goals. Following your Customized DIEM Organizing Plan, I will share with you certain organizing principles and help you apply those principles to develop solutions and ideas to overcome your organizing challenges. I will provide you with fresh perspectives to help you use your space more efficiently. Letting go of clutter can be emotionally challenging. I will support you in making tough decisions and provide solutions to preserve your cherished memories. I will guide and encourage you to achieve your desired organizing goals and develop a Tidy Sense. And I always follow the Code of Ethics when working with you. Let's Organize!  

 

What is the DIEM Organizing Plan?

The DIEM Organizing Plan consists of four phases: decluttering, innovation, execution, and maintenance. I will provide you with a Customized DIEM Organizing Plan to address your specific needs. And DIEM is my name.

 

Can I organize myself?

Yes, you can. I can consult with you and provide you with your Customized DIEM Organizing Plan. You can hire me to help you execute all or part of the plan. 

 

How much time will it take to get organized? 

The time will depend on the size of the project and how closely you would like to follow your Customized DIEM Organizing Plan.

 

Decluttering typically takes several sessions depending on how much clutter you have and how involved you are in the process. A Decluttering session is scheduled in a 3-hour increment. The number of sessions required to achieve your goals depends on your goals and how involved you are in the process. No more than two decluttering sessions can be scheduled in a single day.

 

Innovating of a new organizing system for a small project such as a reach-in closet or small cupboard can often be accomplished in approximately one to two. For larger projects such as walk-in closet or pantry, innovating a new organizing system can take anywhere from three to six hours.

 

Executing of the new organizing system for a small project such as a reach-in closet or small cupboard can often be accomplished in approximately two to three hours. For larger projects such as a walk-in closet or pantry, executing the new organizing system can take anywhere from six to twelve hours.

 

Maintaining an organized space is an ongoing process. Each maintenance session is scheduled for 2 hours. I can help you get back on track and maintain the organizational system we developed.

Do you work with children? 

Yes, learning organizing skills as a child is crucial to having an organized life. We can help parents of young children put in place a simple storage system to keep their children's clothes, toys, and art projects organized. For older children and teens, we can work with them directly to teach them the skills necessary to keep their room, desk, and backpacks tidy and develop good organizing habits that will serve them well in their future.

I can assist in very basic assembly of certain organizing solutions, but anything that requires a drill or screwdriver should be done by a handyman. I can help you hire a handyman if you don't already have one.
